And the reviews are in...

Happy September!

Today's blog post is going to consist of reviews of books that I have read over the last few months or so, that are "Read Worthy".

I have picked four Indie Authors that I thought you all might want to get to know.

The four of them couldn't be more different in their writing styles, but that's one of the things I really like about them. If everyone had the same writing style, the literary world would be a mighty boring place, don't you agree?

I myself, like a plethora of genres, and I don't favor one over the other.

H.D. Scarberry

H.D. Scarberry is an author and artist who hails from a small town just south of the Tennessee border. Her current published works include two novels and one short story collection, as well as a poetry collection which was published under a pen name. Her art is available on her Etsy site.

When H.D. is not writing, painting or sketching, she is caring for her family, reading and living the small town life. To keep up with H.D., follow her on social media.

Out of this world

H.D. Scarberry writes an out of this world book that sucks you in at the very beginning. I felt as though I was on this emotional ride with Rachel. Emotions ran high, as I was pulling for her, to get some kind of happiness. It's a roller coaster of a ride. I loved it.

Pousmalis: The New World: Book 2

H.D. Scarberry did it again. Book 2, The New World was, in my opinion even better than Book 1, and I didn't think that was possible. There were so many twists and surprises, my head was spinning; in a good way. H.D. created this world unlike any other. I was truly hooked, and begged her to tell me that Book 3 was in the works. I was not ready for it to end. You will be flabbergasted at the end, you won't even see it coming, and you'll be dying for more, I guarantee.

Kara SB Brown

Kara Stevens, writing under the pen name Kara SB Brown, is a disabled veteran with PTSD and other comorbid issues. She lives in her head more than reality and writes dark psychological fantasies as a cathartic exploration into her traumas, including therapy skills she’s learned over the years. When not writing, Kara sings, dances around without style, practices Muay Thai and yoga, meditates, paints, draws, trains her service dog (she even dances with her!), enjoys time with her fiancé’s emotional support dog and their two cats, and spends time with her fiancé, who she met in Afghanistan.

Finding strength when you least expect it

Kara poured her heart and soul into this heart wrenching story. The courage and strength to overcome unbelievable obstacles, circumstances and horrific events, through fantasy and magic was brilliant. I cried reading it, because she truly made me feel every single act that was being done. (I don't want to divulge too much) It is a powerful story though.

Perrie Patterson

Perrie is a graduate of the University of Alabama. She has a degree in fashion merchandising, but had no idea many years later she would be writing romance novels. With her two kids now in college, Perrie has more time for writing. She and her husband Jeff live north of Atlanta with their three fur babies and are enjoying their empty nest.

Heartfelt and touching

This book had me crying, hoping and praying. I think every teenager, boy or girl should read this, as well as adults. We need more faith in the world. This is truly a touching story. I absolutely loved it.

Intriguing

A book about friends, love, secrets and doing the right thing. My Blood Runs Crimson is a suspense filled, can't put it down story.

Not only is this a great book, but Perrie even has a drink that goes with it. The recipe for this special aperitif is below.

Todd Hiller

Todd Hiller is a Connecticut native with a passion for storytelling. After college, he returned to his small hometown, where he now resides with his wife and children. An avid public servant, Todd has dedicated over twenty years of service to his town, most notably in volunteer fire and emergency medical services.

Full of Suspense

Todd Hiller hit it out of the park with this suspense filled thriller. The beginning nearly broke my heart, but throughout, it kept me on edge, and quite frankly, I couldn't put it down. This book might be full of suspense, but it is also full of overcoming the worst imagined events in someone's life. Coming out on the other end of a horrific situation takes courage, and that is what this book gives. I loved it.

So, if any of these books look intriguing to you, be sure to go to Amazon.com and look them up. All four authors are on Instagram, if you'd like to follow them.

Until next time, keep reading. And in case you were wondering... Yes, reviews really do make a difference. If you have read a great book, let that author know by leaving a review. It doesn't have to be a paragraph long or anything, one or two sentences is perfect. We truly appreciate it.
